The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a prestigious all-India level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It serves as the gateway to undergraduate courses offered by various participating institutions. Prior to 2021, the exam was known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), a name bestowed upon it by the University Grants Commission (UGC). However, the UGC decided to rebrand the test, hence renaming it as CUET. The exam takes place once a year and is administered in more than 500 cities across India and internationally. Initially, CUCET was conducted in a traditional paper-pencil-based format by the UGC. However, since last year, the NTA has taken over the responsibility of conducting the examination, and it is now conducted in a modern computer-based mode.

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by COA since 2006, to qualify for the admission to Bachelor of Architecture. The Council has prescribed CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983 and in the year 2020 the Council has prescribed the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, with the approval of the Central Government in terms of Sections 21 & 45 of the Architects Act, 1972. These Regulations prescribe that the candidate needs to qualify an Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e., JEE) or NATA conducted by the Council for admission to the Architecture degree course. The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was set up by the Government of India in 1960, in the premises of the erstwhile Prabhat Studios in Pune. The FTII Campus currently stands on the grounds of the erstwhile Prabhat Studio. Prabhat Studio was a pioneer in the business of filmmaking and shifted to Pune from Kolhapur in 1933. The archaic studios of the time, which were the production grounds for the films of Prabhat are still present and are being used at FTII. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to contribute in the skill building for the external trade sector of India. The Indian Institute of Economics was founded in 1953 as the National Centre for Theoretical and Applied Economic Research by a group of economists under the leadership of Professor S. Kesava Iyengar, who served as the Economic Advisor to H.E. the Nizam of Hyderabad State.
